fun fact: i’ve known noah for over ten years after meeting him at our summer camp. over the course of our friendship, we’ve spent countless hours hiking, canoeing, gathering together for holidays, family events and celebrations. despite always living in separate cities – los angeles, boston, north carolina, etc. – we’ve always managed to stay close and connected. so when i heard noah had eyes on a new gal he met during his first year in graduate school, i knew something special was about to unfold.
when noah finally proposed to layla, he did so over pancakes on a sunday morning. since they are both currently living in the land of the pines, they asked if i’d be willing to travel down and road trip to the mountains for their engagement session. obviously, i was only too happy to tag along.
we spend the weekend driving down winding roads, thrift shopping, visiting breweries, slipping in mud and chasing some incredible fog. we ended our evening at max patch and despite the chill and wind, we witnessed one hell of a sunset. layla looked dope in her gorgeous yellow dress and noah, as predicted, graced us with flannel and hawaiian shirts.
guys, thank you so much for letting me third wheel it for the weekend with ya’ll. i cannot begin to tell you how thrilled i am that you’re getting hitched this fall.

Katie… those are so beautiful I especially love the last one where you got the sun in between them and the one running with the blanket. You are a true talent, so proud of all that you have done. Let me know if you are ever in Charlotte we have a guestroom with your name on it.
