it’s always an honor to be chosen to document a wedding day, especially when the couple are focused on creating their own traditions. so (obviously) i was thrilled when brett and fatima asked me to photograph their beautiful and intimate wedding in september.
they got married at the farmer’s daughter, a lovely little property in south kingstown, rhode island. there are expansive views, sunflower fields for days, and quiet nooks of greenery where evening guests can soak up the stars – basically everything you could want from a farm venue. the day of their wedding was sunny and warm, with just the coziest autumn chill once the sun went down. as fati got ready at a hotel with her closest friends and sisters, brett spent the morning with his brothers at an airbnb.
after the sweetest first look, the couple, surrounded by their closest friends and family, were married in front of a gorgeous floral backdrop by fati’s brother. while guests soaked up the celebrations and enjoyed cocktails provided by beer and bubbles, the couple and i explored the venue’s greenhouses and spent the last few moments of sunlight in the sunflower fields.
in the evening, everyone joined together under a cream sailcloth tent adorned strings of large asian style lanterns. guests enjoyed a lovely rustic french dinner provided by plouf plouf gastronomie as attendees toasted the bride and groom. the tables were beautifully decorated with harvest tables, taper candles and hues of pink flowers by semia.
aside from the overall aesthetic, my favorite part of this wedding was capturing the cultural richness celebrated and brought together by both families. brett and fati, thank you for allowing me to play third wheel and celebrate your magical wedding! special thanks to anchor productions for your incredible vision and daily execution.
